FAQs

In Solar PV System solar energy is captured using solar panels (PV panels). These panels convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter then converts this to alternating current (AC), which powers homes and appliances

Solar PV System can cost in between approximately Rs. 50,000 – 80,000/ KW excluding GST

Electricity bill savings can be up to 90%.

Solar Panel warranty period up to 30 years and inverter warranty period up to 10 years.

It can be determined by evaluating last 12 months electricity bill. From the bills calculate daily consumption units. For example, your daily average consumption is 20 units and in your area 1 Kw PV System generates 4 units in a day. Hence in this scenario, the required system size is 20 divided by 4 that is 5 KW PV System

On-grid System is connected to local grid. It allows you to use solar power during the day, send extra power back to the grid for credits (Net Metering) and use grid power at night or during cloudy days.

Off-Grid System uses batteries and are not connected to the grid — often used in remote areas. The off-grid inverter can operate with the storage batteries and need not require grid connectivity.

Hybrid System is a combination on-grid and off-grid functionality, it can operate both as on grid and off grid system — offer backup during power cuts.

Maintenance cost is limited to 5 % depending on age of the PV system.

It can be reduced by adopting Net Metering

Hybrid System will operate during the time of power outage. Off-grid system does not require grid power.

Solar PV System works with lesser efficiency during winter and monsoon. Average Units generated during scarce sunlight season may drop up to 20%.

Installation time for a domestic project is not more than 5 days.

There is regulatory authority who makes rules from time to time to regulate Solar power plants.

The inverter has an inbuilt monitoring system for this purpose, and which can be accessed through mobile phone.

It can be installed on rooftop and for 1 KW system 5sq. m space is required

Possibility of occurrence of accidents is very low if the system is properly maintained
